Endodontics / Root Canal
The most common type of endodontic procedure is root canal treatment. A root canal procedure is performed on teeth which have infected, injured or dead pulp inside the root.
This typically happens when a large cavity forms inside the tooth that is not treated early, when a simple filling might do.
To save the tooth, we remove the infected root pulp and fill the space. Left untreated, teeth requiring root canal treatments may become abscessed, which can lead to dental and general health complications.
Successful root canals prevent the loss of permanent teeth.
