Dental Dialogues – If You Have Insurance It’s “That Time of Year!”
Dental care is a vital component of any individuals overall health. It has been shown consistently that good oral health is directly linked to our health and wellbeing as a whole. If you happen to work for an employer who offers a comprehensive health and dental care plan, chances are they recognize the important link between your health and dental health and that’s a good thing. What isn’t a good thing? Deadlines! What most health and dental care plans have is a deadline and that might mean that as the end of this year, 2021, fast approaches, you could be facing the loss of any unused dental benefits. If you have insurance, it’s that time of year; the time that you should be making an appointment with the team at Eglinton Square Dental Centre.
We know that for many families, dental coverage helps significantly to cover the cost of both preventative care and urgent care. Whether your insurance plan covers a portion or all of a particular treatment, it’s one that you and/or your employer and you together are paying for – and that through your hard work – you’ve earned! It would be a shame to waste it. We also know that some plans only cover certain family members (usually children) up to a particular age and that additionally, the cut off age might be dependent upon whether your child is in university or college. These deadline dates can sneak by us unnoticed if we aren’t careful and before you know it, your child is ineligible for coverage or the date by which you can use your coverage has long past. Don’t let that happen to you or your family members! If your dental coverage is based on the annual calendar, December 31st will be here before you know it and if you have plans to celebrate any particular religious holiday celebrations between now and the end of the year that too may impact any scheduling of dental appointments. No one wants a dental emergency like a root canal done right before the holidays!
That’s why today we’re writing this friendly reminder blog to encourage readers to review the outstanding amount of your dental coverage, and what services you might still be eligible to schedule. We are currently booking regular cleaning and hygienist appointments and of course our team of Dentists are also available for both scheduled treatment appointments and emergencies when necessary. Remember we provide a variety of care services including general family dentistry, endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, x-rays and both fixed and removable prosthetics. Our office is equipped to bill third-party insurance providers directly leaving you to pay only the difference in costs between what is covered by your provider and what the current fee schedule dictates. We only invoice according to the fee schedule determined by the Ontario Dental Association guidelines and our office is able to process payments using credit, debit or cash.
The team at Eglinton Square Dental Centre offers evening and weekend appointments and there are approximately 4- 6 weeks left before the start of Chanukah, Christmas, and other celebrations such as Kwanzaa. There are about 7 weeks left before New Year’s Day and the expiration of any 2021 unused dental benefits available through your plan so start planning now to book an appointment and take advantage of any remaining dental coverage you and your family members are eligible to use! Give the gift of good dental care to yourself and your family this holiday season and book an appointment at Eglinton Square Dental Centre today! It’s THAT time of year!
